Nettle Creek - Innot Hot Springs Bridge Replacement

The Nettle Creek Bridge is on the Kennedy Hwy in Far Nth Qld. The Neetle Creek is known to flood on a regular / daily basis during the Wet Season in Nth Qld. This flooding cuts the major arterial access for freight coming north, quite often the only access for freight movements during the wet season due to the coastal Bruce Hwy being closed due to flooding. The Nettle Creek bridge, consisted of 21 concrete driven piles, 51 Concrete Bridge Decks and 6 Kerb units. The Contract required the Loading and Transportation of the Piles, Deck units and Kerbs to be transported from Rocla Cairns, to Innot Hot springs, unloaded and stockpiled. The Piles were Subcontractor driven by AVO Piling, using a DCC Terex AC-80.2 Crane, Abutments, bridge decks and kerb units were transported and placed by DCC using a 220T Grove All Terrain and Terex AC80.2 All Terrain Crane.
